Fabrics

- All of our house Cloth/Fabrics are spun from raw fiber into yarn, it is then woven from yarn into fabric. Depending on the micron of the wool it is then spun to give either medium or lightweight that’s breathable worsted wool, from which all our suits are made.
- All of these fabrics go through a finishing process that leaves it smooth and somewhat shiny most of the wool is sourced from the British Isle.
- The cloth is then categorized by fineness.
- The yarn number, for example 120’S or 9oz in weight 10 oz, is what a yard of the material weighs. Heavier fabrics are, naturally, warmer than lighter ones.
- 10-12 oz suiting’s are ideal for spring and fall, as well as for the Autumn Lighter fabrics, often called "tropical" wool without a specific weight are perfect for hot summers.
- Flannel and tweed, in weights of 14 to 18 oz, are best for cold winters.
- We do offer Luxury Fabrics such as Holland
& Sherry, Scabal, Lora Piana and Dormeuil.
- Prices will vary depending on the grade of
the cloth and its availability.
